Definitions
The terms valuation and appraisal can mean different things. Some organizations such as the NACVA differentiate them by using the term appraisal to a value on a tangible asset and the term valuation to value on a intangible asset such as the goodwill of a business. However, organizations such as the IBA & NACVA use the terms interchangeably when describing the service of determining a company’s worth.

Our company name is Business Appraisals. Business Appraisals has been in business of company valuations for more than 30 years, longer than the established industry itself. In other words, Business Appraisals has been operating before many of the standards and common terminology has been codified. With all that said, Business Appraisal is constantly refining our process through the ever changing business landscape and is constantly in compliance with current standards, factors, trends, and certifications.
